∞Repeat

A monthly mix-it-up-yrself/have-fun-with-it playlist.

  • Intro + ∞Repeat Vol.1

Infinite Repeat is a project by Thomas Michael (Jaded Hipster Choir), dedicated to bringing Top 40 sensibilities with underground electronic acts. Some of these might be “out-dated” to some, but consider it retro! Ironic! Who cares!

If you are a featured artist, and wish your material be taken down, please holla atcha boy. I make no money off this little thing, and you can get the joy of new fans liking your music. If you STILL don’t want it up after that, I’ll be happy to take the whole thing down.

The goal of infinite repeat is for you to put your own songs into these mixes. Press shuffle on them! There’s no real order! Take some songs out! Have fun!

    ∞REPEAT VOL.1

    (as seen on my iTunes)

Leave House by Caribou, off the album Swim

Electro album of the year! Perfectly processed drums, the best flute part from here to Nico Muhly, and just uniquely danceable.

#2 by Washed out, off the Washed Out Tour CDR

    RIDE THE CHILLWAVE.

None of Dem by Robyn, off the album Body Talk 1

Swedish pop chanteuse takes on dark-wave, and beats the shit out of eardrums. Definite A+

Lewis Takes Off Hiss Shirt (Dan Deacon Remix), by Owen Pallett, off the 10” Lewis Takes Off His Shirt Single

Just incredible. Fills a giant noisy-drum hole in me that the original ignored. Better than the original.

Rain Dancer by Kuhrye-oo, off the (FREE) album It’s Called “Star Magic”

Just move and groove to this disco-funk-processed marvel.

Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas, off the album THE E.N.D

I have no idea how the public accepted such a weird, minimalistic, off-kilter pop song as a number one hit for 14 weeks. But its definitely a banger.

Glitter Freeze, by Gorillaz, off the album Plastic Beach

What a weird synth-pop jammer. Despite the off-puting Damon Albarn freakout half-way through, this is such an icy-cool synth gem.

TiK ToK, by Ke$ha, off the album Animal

Definite party jammer. If you don’t tap yr foot to this, you are dead inside.

Rude Boy, by Rihanna, off the album Rated R

This song is everywhere right now! This is mostly on here for my friend Breanne, who will not speaking the lines “Tell me rude rude boy can you get it up” to everyone she meets whilst drunk.

All Yr Songs (GOBBLE GOBBLE Wings for Eyeliner Remix) by Diamond Rings, off GOBBLE GOBBLE’S myspace.

What an incredible under-three-minute remix. This is how I introduce all my friends to the genius of GOBBLE GOBBLE.

Where Is My Mind (Pixies Blasphemy) by GOBBLE GOBBLE, from GOBBLE GOBBLE’S myspace.

This is the other song I use to introduce my friends to the wildness and insane fist-pumping-like-champs action that GOBBLE GOBBLE invokes.

Hannibal by Caribou, off the album Swim

Starts off with a poly-rhythm that works its way into an undeniable earworm. Best enjoyed with people who are on mushrooms, and never heard of Caribou before.

    El Tigeraso by Maluca

Got this in the email from a friend. Apparently Maluca doesn’t have an album out yet, but definitely blew considerable minds at SXSW. Prime car-listening experience. Especially once they get into the groove of the lyrics. Looking good like always.

Bowls by Caribou, off the album Swim

Consistently wowed by this album. It was when I got to this track that I knew that I needed to make Infinite Repeat, so I could spread tracks like this around.

Dancin on Me by Telephoned, off their Telephoned E.P

Songs like this blend Top 40 sensibilities and relatively-underground electronic artists together so well, making Telephoned my number one post-SXSW band to watch.

What You Say by Bobby Birdman, off his album New Moods

Blending layered-female vocals, a simple chorus, 50’s style croon, and fake drum beats shouldn’t work. Bobby Birdman pulls it off with style and grace, coming off as the most natural and fun combination around.

Lately by Washed Out, off the Life of Leisure E.P

Some people really like Feel It All Around. I however, don’t any tracks on that E.P, except for this crown jewel of tape-love.

You (Minotaur Shock Remix) by Gold Panda, off the You E.P

It was a toss up between the original and this remix, but this one takes the simplicity of the original and makes it way more groovable. Tough work on an already incredible single, but Minotaur Shock focus in on dance elements like a lazer.

Up Up Up by Givers, off the Givers E.P

Another post-SXSW band primed for indie blogosphere takeover. Extremely positive and energetic, a definite pick me up on a bad day.

Rockin That Thang by Telephoned, off their Telephoned E.P

This song blew me away when I first listened to it. They polyphonic female vocals, the glistening synths, how extremely danceable and relaxed this track feels. The perfect note to end on.
